DARTMOOR NORTH TO SOUTH
TWO-DAY score event
OKEHAMPTON → POSTBRIDGE / BELLEVER → IVYBRIDGE
5-6 december 2026
A winter fell-running and fastpacking expedition with a score-event challenge. Travel as an Pair, choosing from checkpoints of varying difficulty and points value. Visit the compulsory checkpoints, build your score and reach the stage finish before the cut-off.
Two stages. Six and a half hours each day. You decide how much to take on.
£195 per person
10% deposit (£19.50) secures your place on acceptance. Balance paid in stages. Pairs may pay together or individually.
THE MISSION
Cross Dartmoor from Okehampton to Ivybridge, with an overnight expedition camp in the Postbridge / Bellever area. The challenge is to collect the highest score you can within each day’s six-and-a-half-hour time limit.
Each stage offers a spread of checkpoints with different points values and levels of difficulty, plus a small number of compulsory checkpoints. You choose which optional checkpoints to visit and how to link them into a workable route.
Judge the ground, the weather, your energy and the time remaining. Is the next high-value checkpoint worth the extra effort—or is it time to head for the finish? Late arrival brings penalty points, so knowing when to head for the stage finish is part of the challenge.
Plan for around 25–40 km per day, depending on your checkpoint and route choices. Shared stages, a supported overnight camp and a common finish bring the expedition together.

THE CHALLENGE
WINTER FELL RUNNING / FASTPACKING
Expect rough ground, wet sections, exposed moorland and navigation that can become demanding when visibility drops. December brings short daylight hours and the possibility of cold, wind and persistent rain.
You should be comfortable travelling off-road for consecutive days, navigating with a map and compass, and managing your clothing, food and equipment as conditions change.
Run where the ground allows, move steadily through the harder sections and make decisions that keep you within the cut-off.
This expedition rewards sound judgement as well as strong legs.
